As part of the International Friendship Awardthe 2nd Crosby Sea Scout Group is working with the Waterloo Partnershipto help a Scout Troop in Sierra Leone. What they do . . . The Waterloo Partnership works with groups in the UK (Schools, churches etc) to help Groups in Sierra Leone. Major projects include: a community health clinic, farming projects, purchasing hens, Youth Council and Rural Education. The Parternship also arranges for conatiners to shipped over. The latest conatiner went at the end of May 2009 filled with school equipment from the old Joan of Arc Primary school site. These conatiners contain vital equipment which isn't readily available. What we want to do . . . We are planning to send equipment out with the next container or with people who go out. Equipment will include: Neckers, badges and activity equipment. For a list see right (this is in progress). We will be running a number of fund raising activities over the next few months so watch this space. |
